shows us how we should live how we should testify how we should be an example to the world you know on in this morning if if you have the Bible app they do a Bible verse you know and I have it right up front in my phone and it's interesting today talked about Hebrews 10 10 24 through 2 and it says let us consider and provoke unto love and into good works Hebrew 10:24 it talks about provoke um Hebrews 10 10:24 10:24 provoke each other to love and to good works sometimes when we provoke each other we do it in a negative way but it says to for love and good works this not comes from us it comes from the Holy Spirit and look let's look at the next verse and it says do not forsake the Assembly of one another you know like some tend to do maybe last year is gone and you came to church 50% of the time but may by the Holy Spirit maybe he encouraged you this year let's not skip me included you included by the guidance of the Holy Spirit provoke each other for love and of course the good and Savior Jesus Christ with his love peace be with you I just have a question which one of you here is the first time in our church we greet you for the first time all our guests gopel Church you're here at Slavic Gospel Church and every month the first Sunday of the month we have this service of communion and maybe it's your first time here at our church you can see how this how this will happen and the reason for this is we thank God that he saved us he redeemed us and he had Grace on us I have a question for you when you come into church and you walk in and you see this table what do you think it's very interesting to me what do you think even us Christians the ones that go to church many years what did we think about this before my story I want to before my sermon I want to share a short story when I was in Switzerland they told me the fine for speeding on the roads is based upon how much money you earn the more money you earn the bigger they'll give you the fine so I knew about this and I tried to drive very carefully because in Switzerland it's a very small country and it has very thin roads and so when you're at a low speed any car crash and accident isn't so scary but I didn't know one thing when we were going from Switzerland to Germany I had a car with a Ukrainian license and the policeman stopped us he said I will give you a ticket a fine I said for what because you don't have the thing that allows you to drive through you have to get a certain visa to allow you to drive through Switzerland and I thought for sure they're not going to give me a fine because I have a Ukrainian Li Europe had decided that any kind of traffic violations any car that had Ukrainian license plates would be released from those but he told me these words your car is Ukrainian but your passports American PID $200 and I had to pay $200 and it's very interesting I want to continue this many young people in Switzerland go to Germany just to drive on the Auto Bond because on the Auto Bond there is no speed limit and it's very sad but many of them they crash and die they just had that desire to drive on the autobond with very great speed but it ended very tragic and the theme of my sermon today will be it is breaking the speed limit in your spiritual life I'm GNA read the word of God and we're going to study it we're going to read from the first book of Timothy chapter 6 verse three verses 3 to 6 listen very carefully to the word of God and also reading verse 11 t and also we're going to read a different passage from the book of First Kings it'll be chapter 21 verse 27 to verse 29 for and let's go back to that passage that I read but godliness with contentment is great gain 1 Timothy 6:6 I know we all have desires in our own life when I was young I always thought oh if I could have that bicycle if I would have that bicycle I'd be so happy it was just my desire to have my own B bcle and then when I grew up I had different desires oh if I had that nice car it was such a desire for me to have that nice car and when I bought my first car in my life I had a big desire to have a Volvo I loved big cars and all my life I noticed that in my life I always have a desire and every one of you has the desire oh if I would have that dress oh if I had that nice house I would love to live in oh if I had that voice that that one has to sing or that Ministry in the church and we have different Desires in our life and sometimes those things we desire they do not bring usess and sometimes because we desire the wrong things we fall into trouble I want to look at the story of the king Ahab today it's a very interesting story in his life Ahab had everything in his life as a king but the king where he lived next to him he had a Vineyard and every time he would drive by he would see this Vineyard he said oh if only I would have that Vineyard they he said told his servants go find out who is the owner of that Vineyard and they found the owner of that land the king called him to himself he said I will pay you for your land give it to me I want to buy it I really want it because it's so close next to me I have a question did a the king not have enough Vineyards all of Israel was before him all the land was before him but he wanted this specific one I cannot give it to you or sell it to you the Lord commands me to do this this is from my father father's given to me and sometimes the desires we want in our life and sometimes God tells us I cannot I can't give it to you you don't need this in your life be joyful with what you have with what God has already given you the talent you have I've given it to you use this no I don't want that I want something else so the king Ahab comes home and it's very interesting the word of God says he came and he laid down and he did not eat he fell into deep depression the desires that did not come true in his life led him to depression he didn't even want to eat watch after yourself in your life sometimes when you don't receive something life it doesn't work for you then you fall into depression you you you carry yourself so loadly you allow different things in your life and you're just sad but it's very interesting when Ahab was in his home the doors open and his wife Isabelle comes in but listen to me very carefully very important when the thing that does not happen in your life and you're not happy that it did not happen you open the door to the Devil Himself you open it wide open to him and his wife comes in we're not going to talk about his wife today that's a different theme but it was one of the worst people and she comes to him and she asks what has happened and he tells her the situation and sometimes that happen the enemy in our life comes and they he just speaks good words to You and they always say the right things it's very sad it's very interesting the story of Jesus Christ when Peter came to him and Peter uh Jesus tells Peter he said he says very different very interesting words he says Peter get away from me no he didn't say that he said Satan get behind me the devil gave Peter the right thing to say so you have to be very careful when people speak to you be very careful when you listen to what someone says and so the wife tells the king she says don't worry I will do everything and so it's very interesting I begin to think how much did the king let his wife rule over his kingdom she writes the letters she puts his stamp of approval that means she has to take his stamp from his office she has to stamp it andite and what is the solution to the problem it's evil we're going to announce a fast we're going to announce a whole fast and so then they brought the owner and they said before him and they took his life Ahab is one of the kings in Israel that didn't follow the law and once all of that had happened he took this Vineyard and he said there now I have everything that I want he walked into his land into his Vineyard he was very joyful the things that he wanted he [Music] received and then the Prophet Elijah comes into and he says thus says the Lord and he begins to say what is awaiting the king and then Elijah leaves and then it's very interesting what Ahab does you know an evil person a bad person a sinful person and when he had heard this he tore apart his kingly robes he put dirty clothes on him he laid down and he walked down very sad and God looked at the Earth and he says to the Prophet Elijah did you [Music] see how Ahab has humbled himself do you see how Ahab has humbled himself and today when you see this bread and this wine the first thing that you should think about Lord help me humble myself how many bad things have I had how many bad desires have I had Lord help me humble myself and God from his throne he will look at every single one of us in our hearts and then the Lord said to Elijah go one more time to Ahab and tell him because you have humbled yourself the evil that I promise I will not put on you and then he lived the rest of his life but the tragedy of his wife was very very and one day we'll talk about her but to what point do I want to bring every one of us today Jesus Christ came on Earth to forgive us of all of our sins all of our Evil all of our bad words all of our bad Desires in our Liv every time we have hurt somebody he took to take it away to wash it to redeem us that's why today is it is a great Mercy to everyone of us when we come to God we say God forgive us God so that your glory would fill us and we would feel the Forgiveness of our sins and by his stripes you are healed Jesus received receiv 39 whips and what's interesting is on those whips were were tied down like spikes so every time they would whip him on his back they would tear out pieces of Flesh and it's interesting 39 whips and Medicine says there's 39 different categories of sickness so in every category there are certain sicknesses but in those whips we have heal and today when when you grab the bread the symbol of the Flesh of Jesus Christ imagine the suffering that he went through for you and for me by his wounds by his stripes are heal by his blood we are washed I call every one of you let's stand for prayer and let's just tell him everything that's in our hearts so that we would humbly come to his throne of grace and we would humble ourselves deeply before God and God's grace would fill us let us pray for amen amen you may take your seats while while we are preparing for [Music] communion I read that Isaac Newton he was a very wise smart man and every time he heard the name Jesus Christ or God he would always take off his hat and he would always stand to his feet in in a certain part of Ukraine we have a pastor brother Serge and when you walk into their Church the first thing they do is they get on their knees and they pray and when they read the word of God all the church let's stand before our God show respect and listen to the word of God I'm reading 1 Corinthians chap 11: 23 Paul wrote these [Music] words [Music] we're going to have a prayer right now that God would bless this bread let's bow our heads and pray so that this bread would be a blessing to every one of us [Music] [Music] fore [Music] for [Music] for [Music] [Music] for [Music] [Music] fore [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] be very careful when you're taking this bread the ones that can partake are the ones that were water water baptized in a conscious age that are part members of a church and they're in peace with God and with people may God bless you [Music] [Music] all let us pray for infor for was there anyone that we accidentally skipped or pass by [Music] we continue to read that same Passage I call you all to have a prayer right now what support you B [Music] [Music] for for for for we ask you don't take the cup yourself they will pass it to you be very careful [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] did we pass anybody by [Music] [Music] [Music] let's stand humbly before the face of God we'll have a prayer in just a moment where we'll get on our knees we'll wait until the end [Music] [Music] dear Church let's bow down before our Lord the Allelujah hallelujah hallelujah for for [Music] am praise be to our Lord I greet you church that we had today a very special blessing taking part taking part of this communion because of this New Covenant we're able to unite with that body and that blood I want to make an announcement today in the evening at 500 p.m here we will have this celebration of Christian music and praise to our Lord today is by the old calendar is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ so the sisters are preparing we're going to have some fellowship here and a suet as well in the back if you could put the invitation on the screen for today at 5m tomorrow on Monday at 7:30 we will have prayer here and on Wednesday at 7:30 as well we will have service here and we will have two Bishops guests come to us vior it'll be Victor and Alexander who will um so don't forget don't leave the service join us on Wednesday they will be praying and sharing the word it'll be on Wednesday and on Sundays at 10:30 we have a prayer over there in that room the conference room 10:30 a.m. and then this upcoming Sunday we'll have a special service where brother ol will share because he's in charge of this service this upcoming Sunday January 14th we will have a youth come from Northport they'll have about 50 people so we will have a youth service I invite you all and we will pray that God will bless it praise be to God When We Were Young we would always have Fellowship I want to make two more announcements in two weeks it'll be January 21st we'll have a members meeting as we have already [Music] announced and brother Sergey kooi will come up to give information about this meeting dear brothers and sisters like it was already said January 21st we will have a members meeting and according to our bylaws we want to have a few votes and on the ballot we will have four [Music] questions just so our members meeting would be legal if you're planning to leave we already have questionnaires prepared for you that you can come and vote beforehand and don't miss this because we're going to be voting on some very important things [Music] we I want to make it very open so that everyone has enough time to ask questions the first question on the ballot that we'll be voting about [Music] right now we're passing on the treasury Department the two you know the accountant over and while the new candidate is preparing themselves you know we're still paying about this work so one of the questions we'll be voting on is until we transfer over the accountant are we able to pay $700 a month to our current accountant if you have any questions any concerns any ideas that you want to suggest you can come to brother Sergey or to the pastor the next question you heard about it a month ago when we had the bishop come this is the question of our church joining the union of Assemblies of God into the Slavic District you know we before we can vote on this in our bylaws we have to vote whether we will vote on it openly or vote on it in secret Full Gospel Church District Assembly of God so the question we'll be voting on is are we going to vote on this subject matter of us joining um Assemblies of God into the Slavic District are we gonna do an open Vote or a closed vote and then after you know we count that vote we will have either an open Vote or a closed vote based on that question so the ones that are voting beforehand it doesn't really matter if you vote open or Clos you know there's no [Music] difference Church Assembly of God and then the third question we'll vote is whether we want to join the Slavic Assemblies of God District it'll be yes or no if you have any questions about this you can always ask the questions we already had a bishop come explain most of it but if you still have some questions you know we'll have Bishops on Wednesday you can always ask so the fourth question is are we going to um receive Sergi kooi as the Secretary of our church until the appointed term when we will vote again so all our ministers all our positions go through a vote every term so will we vote for sergic as the Secretary of our church so if you have any questions don't be afraid come to brother Sergey or the pastors or somebody and ask them a question based on these four questions that we'll be voting on in the members meeting one more announcement it'll be the last Saturday of January January 27th you can put that on screen in Orlando have a pray at 12 p.m. it's the prayer of the Florida churches put it on your calendar so that we would pray for all the churches in Florida and the state that we live in on these prayers is very often that God heals that God baptizes in the holy spirit so it's really a move of God you can come I invite the choir you can come up and take your place they're going to be serving Us in song and we will take part in our tithes and offerings and the first offering will be for our local church and while the choir is singing the first song that will be our first offering and collection of tithes and afterwards we will have a second tithe and offering for the Ukraine fund we will be collecting for Ukraine and so when they begin to sing the second song that's when we will have the second collection of ties and offerings for that need so that that fund would be full to help Ukraine before we go into this I want to read Proverbs 3: 9 and 10 this is uh king of Israel that is Anointed by God the most wise man and the Holy Spirit gave him these words to say if you believe that say amen and give willingly because God loves a cheerful Giver not putting in there some Sorrows let us stand really quickly and pray Hallelujah aen [Music] to [Music] by [Music] all [Music] youe now [Music] [Music] foree [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] the [Music] [Music] for [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] keep [Music] [Music] God he [Music] [Music] stronges the [Music] be [Music] not for you [Music] you [Music] [Music] when there the Jo [Music] [Music] of [Music] is for you my [Music] [Music] for you [Music] [Music] be [Music] [Music] for you for should go oh for [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you [Music] stand with the GL [Applause] share you knew [Music] [Applause] [Music] never we will have a practice as already mentioned to your parents via text message that we will have for 5:00 we're going to have some guests here then we invited for the evening service let's go let's go kids why are you guys waiting everybody we would like to have everyone over here come on over here [Music] for amen we're going to go upstairs everyone upstairs in the big room praise God God gave us the ability to come here today to remember his death to read his word to listen to his word through this our faith grows it is important to hear it to read it and also to re uh to understand what we read and I'd like to share with you from Philippians chap 2 veres 1-9 and Apostle Paul writes to the church Pro [Music] [Music] both praise God Jesus Christ he humbles himself to the point he was obedient to to that point that God himself lifted him up usually as people we want somebody to you know praise us or to lift us up and sometimes we do it to ourselves we lift ourselves up and when we do this to ourselves then we fall deeply or great but if you want to be lifted up as Jesus Christ was by as by his father and if we want to be glorified with Christ if we are obedient to God as Christ himself was then we have to be like Christ we have to be the point of the center of Christ for us for us he should be the attention the purpose sometimes in life we want something a car maybe a car house and we put it as a goal or a purpose and what we want but other people might say we want to give you this but we tell them no I have a goal or a purpose this is what I want because we purposely know what we want if we put Christ as a purpose and we always see him in front of us as a goal and we desire and want him we will be like him we will transform in his likeness and my sermon today would be the character of Christ and I'd like to talk about what kind of a character should a Christian have the character that Christ has and what kind of character should every Christian person have and let's look at what is a character or what it is and I looked at the dictionary and took the simple words it is the qualities of a person moral values qualities of his who he is as a [Music] person his inner being or who he is or another another um explanation the inner life of a person how he lives you know character is a form that is a a will that has been formed which was been this will that has been formed you know kids they have a free will but he but their character or their will still here and there but as in an older person your character or your will is already formed and there sometimes it is formed to a point it is hard as a rock and you cannot move this person to the left or to the right it is a character is a formation of a person's will and another thing what is a charact what else is a character a Char a person character will change based on the surroundings around him you know some people give this excuse this is my character is my character I cannot do anything about it and they act this way in their life un you know not good that is not a character character will change based on the surroundings of who you surround yourself with good friends good places you will build a good character bad bad places your character will change you know people know people know people by their character but their character of the situation or their their their um spiritual level or spiritual how they are Spirit you can tell a person by their character at their spiritual level and I'd like us to look and see what is the Christ character is like when we look at the word of God we could see what type of character Christ had and of course we can't say all of it but I'd like to underline a few moments we see that Christ was good and his goodness was shown to the people around him that he was humble he was humble he left the Glory of Heaven having all authority or all power he came to Earth and he became like to be like every single person on Earth he was humble you know sometimes we think uh humbleness is you know maybe torn um uh uh torn pants don't don't have anything kind of maybe living outside it shows us the level of how we communicate and act with one another Christ himself having everything he became so humble so easy towards people he talked to everyone with the rich with the poor with the sick he became equal to all of them we see the C Christ life how gentle he was he was sympathetic to people's problems in his character we see the great great of how great his love was and he calls each one of us to this he was firm in his words he simple to understand talked in parables in simple form that people would understand him and he was also disciplined he knew and fulfilled the will of his father not his will but the will of his father this is the character that Christ had which he has and that we should as well let's look back at the word of God Philippians and here Apostle Paul writes to the Philippians to the Christians to hold what we have received in Christ 21 remember what we have received from Christ as a as a Church of Jesus Christ we are the most blessed and richest people in the world we are more blessed than any other person on this on this Earth because our wealth is not measured by the gold of this but this world it is not by pounds or dollars our riches is that Jesus Christ is our Lord but we have the mindset of Jesus Christ that we have his God's wisdom in us we have Grace and we have the Holy Spirit our comforter and Apostle Paul writes to the Philippians and says remember or take hold of what we have received from Christ you have received encouragement you have received Joy you have received love and you have received the unity of the spirit and mercy you know Apostle Paul he wasn't just a simple person you know Apostle Paul was through his word through his testimony Ministry a lot of people came to Christ and he didn't take it lightly how the Philippians church was doing I don't know maybe somebody told him maybe he saw it he was received by the Holy Spirit of reation he didn't say well it is what it is good that it's not worse he saw the problem and he started to write and he says fulfill my joy fulfill my joy you know he that he has Joy but not complete he sees that there's something missing that they still lack something but what it is and he he that you would be likeminded you know Apostle Paul it was important for him that in Philippians that they would think one be like one person thinks this way another one this way and the third one even another way but they would be one minded one if you can't be one- minded you cannot do anything not be able to fulfill the will of God another thing he says complete my joy to have that same love to have the same love how do you understand this same love I have towards you that you have towards me the neighbors likewise you have the same love towards your neighbors you have towards him I would like to ask you don't answer out loud so we won't have any problems do you love your neighbor who lives next door to you from the left or from the right to yourself and ask do you love your close one or a neighbor like the way he loves you Apostle Paul wanted us to have the same love one mind his uh his Joy would be complete when we are likeminded if we think the same and we have the same same mindset as Christ does blessings come to church family success and he sees that it's so important to have this I don't think only Apostle Paul thinks this way but each pastor of a church I know that Pastor vasil his Joy is complete when he sees people living together in harmony but his it's not just him but Christ himself verse three do not do do anything out of self ambition or vain conceit do not do anything out of self ambition in Conflict one what does that mean what does that look like Pastor said we're going to do it this way but somebody tell him nope we're we're going to do it this way okay we're going to do it this way then we we are doing the way that he asked and then he changes his mind not we're going to do it another way so they would do it the opposite of what I told total conflict could be with a pastor it could be with a youth leader or Sunday School or any aspect of Church Life Ministry don't do anything out of self ambition we all have this we have our own Ambitions but the word of God says don't do it this way rather in humility value others above yourself if you have the mindset that who's in front of you is greater than you are another translation treat him as greater and you as lesser and let me ask you another question question don't say it out loud the question is look to your brother to your left to your right your sister that who's sitting right next to you or maybe in the front or in the back is he greater or worse than you is he greater or is he lower we're not talking about a like a human hierarchy or in a hierarchy we're not talking about the Ministries that there's in church let's say as a pastor we have in our families we have the head of the household who is who's the husband on the on the on the job we have a boss I'm not talking about this how do I value a neighbor or person across from me do I value him or is he lower than me is he better than I am or I'm like nope he is lesser in the verse four we read the following and verse four says not look to your own interests but each of you to the interest of others not just your but your neighbors as well maybe you're hearing this for the first time that the word of God tells us not to only be interested in our own but also into the others what does that look like in our life you know next to you a neighbor or a friend or a coworker ask them how would you like this how do you understand this how would we do this for a positive for something for for that we would Rejoice together we we're talking about it in the context of the word of God for his glory what will build the church in each one of us to or separate from the the fear of God as we read in the word of God it says to be interested in the interest of other people not just your own many years ago when I was 13 years old and we lived in Ohio and we would go to church in a caravan 86 you know six boys in the carav Mom and Dad up front you know this the van is for seven people you know me 1213 and everybody else younger and we pick up you know Grandma and Grandpa to come to us to church and when Grandma and Grandpa would s into the Caravan you know just there is no more room I remember how we sit in this van and we would push each other you know move from my spot I was here first of course parents are driving but in the back they didn't care what was going on and my grandpa was listening to it and he said children isn't it better to move a little bit isn't it better to do better for than for your brother or what about if you would get up and let him sit and when I would hear this I would be like what is he talking about I was here first I want to sit here that's my spot but I heard this teaching and it left the impact for my whole life 30 years I remember this and anytime this a situation would happen I remember this story I don't know if any other of my brothers remember this but for me I remember it to this point and I tell you today as well maybe not everybody will remember what we but there will be those who will remember for their entire life do not look only to your own interests but the interest of others as well Jesus Christ was the best example for us he showed us how to be good how to be humble how to listen and come to the conclusion there's three characters we can see of a person you know sometimes people say you have this type of character and there's a character that we we we put on ourselves I have this type of character and there's a real character that you have it doesn't matter what people think about my character what I think about what is important is my true character Jesus Christ is a wonderful example to have that character we are called to to this character of Christ this high quality through this character Christ will be glorified through this character the will of God will be fulfilled and we will be gentle blessed blessed we will be blessed through having this type of character if the word of God cannot change our character nothing else will be able to do it only his word can change when we look deeply when we listen to it not our own interest but what is his interest his name would be glorified let stand we're going to be praying continue to work on our character that we would be open to the work of the holy spirit that our character will become more and more like him that he would be glorified let us pray Hallelujah oh Jesus me Pro for Hallelujah [Music] Jesus for you oh Jesus oh [Music] Jesus amen [Music] for amen
